During my sophomore year, there have been countless amounts of times that I have shown integrity. One of the many times that I demonstrated integrity this year was during track and field. Throughout the season workouts would be given, that a good number of students wouldn't do. Whatever the case was, wether they were too tired or just too lazy, there would always be at least one person that chose not to do what they were supposed to. I was never that person. I always did what I needed to do even when the coaches weren't looking. The reason for this is because I wanted to get better regardless of if my coaches knew or not. I had to work very hard in this sport so that I could see results for myself and get better. I definitely grew a lot in track and field this year. More than I thought I would. I was a wave. Crashing onto the shore not caring about who was watching. I did what I had to do. I grew, I became better, and as I did, people watched me. As people watched me, I was natrually just doing what I had to do. Like a wave in the ocean. It jut flows, however it wants, wherever it wants, whenever it wants. That was me.
What helped me become an individual with integrity?
When I was younger my parents and the people that I grew up around taught me about the importance of integrity. I learned that doing the right thing was always better than doing something the easier way. Going through certain hard times can help with bulilding your charecter and help you grow as a person. As a highschooler you don't realize how important this factor can be. Integrity helps you grow, and because your highschool career emphasizes growth, integrity plays a big role in this chapter of your life. Many of my teachers and coaches have also taught me the importance of integrity. I want to thank each and every one of them for emphasizing this trait as it will come in handy throughout the rest of my days in highschool, and the rest of the years I have ahead of me.
